My name is Kathy Ratchford. I was born in Halifax Nova Scotia but lived most of my childhood in the town of Bathurst New Brunswick. I am an east coaster at heart. I moved to the Toronto area after completing university and have been here ever since.

I have always been interested in the human psyche. I took my B.A. with honours in psychology at Mount Alison University doing my thesis on emotion terms and how they are sequenced in the human brain. Upon moving to the Toronto area I started working in the human services field. I initially worked in a group home with adults whom were both physically and intellectually challenged. I worked there for a few years and then worked with individuals who are intellectually challenged supporting them with their work endeavors. At present I work as a coordinator at a literacy organization which supports adults with reading and writing challenges.

In the late 80’s early 90’s I began to feel restless with systems that didn’t support or work for individuals and started to look elsewhere for answers. It was then that I had an experience which changed my life path forever. I went to a group that was doing energy work. I experienced energy work for the first time in my life and it had such an impact that I had to learn more about this field. Thus began my journey……

I started by studying reiki and reflexology. They were so amazing that I moved onto ear candling and taking different levels of reiki. I then became qualified to give the Myers Briggs Type Indicator which is a personality test. Recently I have studied chair massage, hypnosis, and past life regression. I have taken numerous other mini courses that connect with the original courses. I have woven all of these courses into a tapestry of skills that I use when working with clients. I continue to learn every day as I believe learning is a life long process. You not only learn from a formal school setting but also from every person you meet and every experience that you have throughout your life.

I have come to realize that I am a natural healer. I believe that everyone has potential but may need some guidance to find it as we live in such a busy stressful world. I have the belief that if I can support a person to achieve their potential, release their stress, and pain then I have helped many. The more we become the more we change the potential of the world to be a better home for all. I wear many hats with the same purpose in mind….to support people to live the life they want to achieve.
